Dr. Camilo Ruiz, DO, FACOI, FAASM
A dual board-certified sleep specialist and internist who built a small, personal practice in Fort Lauderdale, where patients are heard, not hurried.

How he practices
Dr. Ruiz treats sleep and general health together. Poor sleep affects blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and mood, and many medications affect sleep. As a sleep specialist and an internist, he looks at both.
For insomnia he starts with cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), the first-line treatment in national guidelines, and uses medication when it helps. For suspected sleep apnea and other disorders, he orders the right test and goes over the results with you.
Visits are unhurried. You'll know what he thinks is going on, what the options are, and what happens next.
